Donation process

The college must be able to accept the responsibilities of your boat, which are often not trivial. Ease of transportation, storage capacity, or general maintenance and repairs all influence whether or not we can accept your generous donation.

It is highly beneficial to have a professional survey completed before you attempt a donation (usually for boats with a value greater than $5,000). This can also act as a valuation amount for your tax records.

You will also need a completed and notarized US Coast Guard Bill of Sale to finalize the transaction.

Information checklist:

    • Valuation document
    • Notarized USCG Bill of Sale
    • Vessel Year, make, and model
    • Donor’s TIN or SSN
