What was your favorite project at COA? Why?
The two week field trip we took to Georgia and Florida for Human Ecology of the Wilderness was one of the best trips I’ve taken here. We had an amazing time and then came back ready to start class without the awkward period and had great discussions and group dynamics the rest of term.
What do you see yourself doing after COA?
Hopefully a Watson, but definitely traveling whether or not I get selected for one. I would love to lead outdoor trips for a bit too.
Have you had an internship? If so, doing what?
I did my internship in Lewiston, Maine working for an organization called Lots to Gardens. I supervised and worked in community gardens and taught cooking and nutrition classes to kids and learned about food preservation, youth empowerment and community development. It was wonderful.
What is one of your favorite childhood memories?
Running through the snow to jump into Lake Tahoe with my sister when we were about 5 and 3 and then running back through the snow to jump into a hot tub.
What is your favorite food to eat? What is your favorite thing to cook?
Vegetables. Everything and anything delicious and outrageous.
What do you like to do when you’re not doing school work?
Spend time outside, read books, go on adventures with friends, cook things, play games, dance, drink tea, explore new places, hang out with plants, learn new things, tell and listen to stories.
What are your favorite colors?
Changes all the time. I’m pretty partial to red, orange, and grey though.
What are your favorite flowers?
Wild roses and red sunflowers.
Why did you choose to come to COA?
The Bar Island Swim! And also the fact that everyone here truly loves to learn. Not to mention we have a gorgeous National Park to explore in our backyard.
Who are your favorite artists and musicians?
I just saw a print by Gustave Caillebotte, a painter from the 1800’s, and I loved it. One of my favorite bands is the Black Keys but I love all sorts of music.
Who is your favorite fictional hero?
Sherlock Holmes.
What do people say is your most marked characteristic?
Probably loyalty.

I wish I could dance and sing better than I can now.
