Health and Wellness

At COA the concept of Human Ecology extends beyond the classroom walls.  Because we are invested in examining the complexity of relationships between humans and their environment, and because we are concerned with what it means to be sustainable, we advocate a holistic approach to health.  We recognize that 'health' is not defined merely by a lack of disease, but rather is itself a complex state that takes into consideration the physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual aspects of our lives.  If we endeavor to affect positive change in the world, we are best equipped to do so when we are at our healthiest.  COA advocates taking a proactive approach to health, supporting individual and community well being through a variety of resources and programs.
