Beinecke Student Travel and Living Assistance Fund

This fund provides travel and living expenses associated with the internship program. For more information, contact Jill Barlow-Kelley.

Kathryn Davis International Advanced Studies Awards

These awards provide support for advanced individual or collaborative work that builds on previous academic interests or that explores new dimensions of a problem or issue in an international context. In a typical year, approximately eight awards are given; the average award is $1,000. The awards are determined by the international studies committee. Proposal Guidelines available here. Fund for Global and Civic Engagement

College of the Atlantic is proud to offer support for travel and program costs to eligible students through the Fund for Global and Civic Engagement (FGCE). This fund was created to support off-campus study in both domestic and international settings for undergraduate and graduate students. It is intended to support a wide range of activities from programs such as the Yucatan, CAVILAM in France, Tropical Marine Ecology, and Costa Rica, as well as internships, residencies, and senior projects. Our operating budget for the academic year 2012-2013 is $40,000. The maximum amount of money awarded to any one student during their tenure at COA is $5,000. Currently, awards have ranged from $200 to $1000 with the majority in the $500 range. These funds will specifically support program fees, airfare, and ground transportation (U.S. and abroad). Equipment requests will not be granted. Rabineau Student Senior Project and Professional Development Fund

College of the Atlantic has a special fund (Louis and Mona Rabineau Scholarship Endowment Fund) designated for the enhancement of senior projects and student academic/professional development. Each year a portion of the monies available will be devoted to both senior project enhancement (may not be used to do the project) (2/3) and student academic/professional development (1/3). Student academic/professional development activities include, but are not limited to, support for students to attend/visit scientific meetings, conferences, libraries, special exhibitions, museums, etc. Research, books, equipment and class field trips are not eligible for support under this fund. Doug Rose GIS Enhancement Fund

This fund supports attendance at conferences on the development and applications of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping software. For more information, contact Isabel Mancinelli.

Maurine and Robert Rothschild Student-Faculty Collaborative Research Fund

This fund supports research projects that engage students directly in collaborative projects with faculty members. Established in 2004, this fund currently awards approximately $5,000 per year to students and faculty. For more information, contact Marie Stivers.
