This course helps intermediate level students increase proficiencies in all four skill areas—listening, speaking, reading and writing.

We use a workshop format drawing on the internet resources and pedagogical methods of the French language institute at CAVILAM in Vichy, France. Classes will meet three times a week for 1.5 hours each session and will include discussions, readings, small and large group activities, and a variety of other exercises that draw on authentic language materials.

This course is for students with sufficient background in the French to engage in complex conversations and learn in a workshop format—students who, using the Common European Framework, are at a B1+ level or higher. Students will be evaluated through written and oral tests, class participation, short papers, and oral presentations.
