In true human ecological fashion, the boundaries between academic, residential and recreational life sometimes blur at COA. For example, Beech Hill Farm - the college's working organic farm - is the centerpiece of the academic program in agriculture and food systems. The farm also supplies produce to Take-A-Break, the college's dining facility, where a simple meal becomes an educational opportunity when students begin to consider where and how their food was produced.
