What has been your favorite class at COA? Why?

The Influences of Mass Media on American Society taught by Christine Heinz. She was a wonderful teacher who was really able to communicate and keep the attention of the class; by far one of the best teachers I've had! The material was really fun and interesting to study, the assignments were creative, and the material we studied has changed how I view and think about the visual media around me.

What was your favorite lesson/lecture/discussion/project at COA? Why?

For Graphic Design I had to create a logo and accompanying advertisements for coffee. I had a blast making up a coffee house name, creating a logo, creating a slogan to fit a specific demographic, and then designing the advertisements. I also liked designing a poster for DownEast AIDs.

What is your dream occupation?

To work a film/photography archivist/preservationist for a big time museum/library.

Off campus at Cadillac Mountain Sports, Cadillac's Patagonia, Cadillac's Nike, and Cadillac's North Face.

What do you see yourself doing after COA?

Graduate school to get a Masters Degree in Library Science.

What country or state would you like to visit? Where would you love to live?

I'm very interested in Scotland, Ireland, and New Zealand. Pretty much any place with sheep since I'm an avid knitter who was raised on a sheep farm. Plus, border collies are my favorite dog.

What is happiness to you?

Knowing that everything will work out.

Have you had an internship? If so, doing what? Where? If not, what are your plans, if any, for your internship?

Abbe Museum and the Jesup Library, both in Bar Harbor. At the museum I worked with their photographic archives and at the library I archived vintage postcards.

What are your ideas for your senior project? If you have already done one, what did you do?

My senior project was a photographic documentary focusing on the hands and art made by ten artists and craftsmen from Northern New York (a place locals call the, "North Country"). It also is where I'm from.

What is one of your favorite childhood memories?

A rather extreme milkweed fight with my best friend of about 14 years, Julie.

What do you like to do when you're not doing school work?

Read, watch movies, play games (not computer related), or knit.

Small student body, intimate classroom setting, first name basis with everyone, and interesting classes.
